Help us decide what to do over the next year!

At Gaddum we continually talk to Greater Manchester mental health peer workers to understand their needs. We’d love to hear from you!

Email fauzia.ahmed@gaddum.org.uk with other ideas on what areas of peer support you’d like to know more about, and what would be helpful for you such as further factsheets, blogs and workshops etc.

Networking with Greater Manchester peer workers

To connect with other Greater Manchester peer workers, you can:

  • Join a WhatsApp group* that’s been set up for peer workers.
  • Send over your details to be shared on a contacts sheet with you and other Greater Manchester peer workers listing your name, email address and/or phone number and, if you’d like to, please list any areas of interest you’d be happy to collaborate on or the client groups you work with.
Please contact fauzia.ahmed@gaddum.org.uk with your mobile number to be added to the group.

*Greater Manchester Peer Network WhatsApp Group

The Greater Manchester Peer Network WhatsApp Group is a place to keep in touch and to discuss issues/challenges around delivering peer support. Feel free to share from your experiences, and any resources that might be helpful for peer support facilitators.

Help us build and keep this as a supportive community for all by following and letting us know about anything you’d like adding or changing to, the guidelines below.

Guidelines:

Use this space to discuss issues and challenges faced when facilitating peer support, to share helpful and relevant resources to benefit other peer support facilitators, and to network

  • Anonymity – Avoid any identifying details if you’d like to bring case examples to the group
  • Stay respectful of all group members

General WhatsApp Group Etiquette:

Please:

  • Keep to the purpose of the group
  • Avoid memes, adverts or deals
  • Stay respectful of others’ limited data allowances and memory
  • Avoid posting between unsociable hours (e.g. 9pm – 9am)

Before you post, it will help to consider:

  1. Is it relevant?
  2. Is it necessary?
  3. Is it a good time to post?

Please note: Everyone who joins the group is a group admin i.e. everyone in this community shares the responsibility for keeping this a safe and effective space.

Thank you! I hope you enjoy being part of this community
