It's good to be making an impact in Greater Manchester...

Changing lives for the better…

This area is all about the people we’ve helped. We could be talking about a child suffering bereavement, a husband struggling with work and family life, or a carer not coping with their changes in responsibility.

We support people in a variety of ways, whether it’s through our advocacy services, our various therapy provisions or the advice and support we provide for carers.

Every month we’ll look at a different group of people that we help; from families dealing with child bereavement to students on placement with us. Over the months this page will grow until we have a full twelve months impact report for 2023/2024.

We hope you enjoy coming on this journey with us.

January’s Feature

Giving young carers a break through regular activities

We let young carers be kids again. We take them skateboarding on Tuesday afternoons so they can make new friends, take time out and be themselves for a few hours.

Other people we’ve helped…

If you have used our services, and would like to share your story, we’d love to hear from you. Email info@gaddum.org.uk.

Thank you for your support and for listening without judgement. I was able to speak honestly about my role as a carer and the up and down of emotions that brings.

Carer

I think it’s brilliant. I feel more confident that you can help me being Afro-Caribbean. Sometimes they (the psychiatric ward) don’t understand the way I express due to being Jamaican.

Advocacy client

My counsellor was very gifted. She didn’t give solutions, but she guided me to find my own. She was very empathetic and very professional.
