Zine making workshop (Salford Adult Carers)
Title: Zine making workshop (Salford Adult Carers)
Date: Monday 19th January 2026
Time: 10:30am – 12:30pm
Venue: Pendleton Gateway
About the workshop:
As part of the Caregiving project, exhibited in Salford libraries, we would like to use the words and pictures made by local carers to create something that can be shared with health and social care professionals to showcase the reality of caring for someone. We’d also like to have something to share with everyone who has taken part in the project.
A zine is a small artist made publication, often these are handmade, but as we are looking to share it widely we will get ours printed. This hands-on workshop will help us choose what we want to share, arrange the pictures and words, and create a mock-up design.
The Caregiving photography project is funded by a National Lottery Project Grant from Arts Council England and supported by the VCFSE sector including Gaddum charity, Empowered Conversations at Age UK Salford & Trafford, Aspire, Salford Libraries.
The workshop will be facilitated by Fiona Robinson (Photographer) and Jem Houghton (Carers Involvement Worker).
If you would like to share any of your own photos / creative writing about caring, please email photoswithfiona@gmail.com and jemma.houghton@gaddum.org.uk in advance of the workshop.
