HomeNewsWe are looking for a Chair of the Gaddum Trustee Board

Gaddum are looking for a new Chair for our Trustee Board, to support the Governance and Strategic Leadership of our organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to lead an enthusiastic and forward-looking Board of Trustees, governing one of Greater Manchester’s fastest growing, values driven, progressive Charities. We are Greater Manchester’s oldest established Health and Social Care Charity. Gaddum currently delivers Advocacy, Carers Support and Therapy services across four Local Authority areas.

Gaddum has had a dynamic impact, through critical times, both historically and more recently through the ongoing Covid pandemic, recognising the further detriment to health inequalities particularly for Black, Asian, and Ethnically diverse communities. We continue to provide support to the most vulnerable in our communities whether through our advocacy support in hospitals and care settings, reducing the impact of isolation for unwaged carers or offering traumatic bereavement support.

We are looking for someone with vision, drive, and passionate about Gaddum’s values, to lead our organisation at this important time. This is a key significant role with attributes of leadership, accountability, integrity, and commitment needed, and with an understanding of VCSE sector.

Gaddum intends to have diversity central to the organisation’s work and governance and we want a Chair who will continue our championing of equality, diversity, and inclusion. We are actively seeking to recruit people from diverse backgrounds and communities to be more reflective of our service users and the wider Greater Manchester population.

The Board meets every 3 months in the evening, with additional subgroups on specific strategic organisational areas, but there is an expectation of additional time commitment from our Chair.

Please contact – Amy Tan, Leadership Support Assistant,  for a role description and to arrange an informal discussion with either the Chief Executive, or the Trustees supporting this recruitment.

If you are interested, please email your CV with a covering letter to outlining why you would like to be considered as a Chair for Gaddum.

The closing date is 5pm on Monday 31 January 2022.
