DESCRIPTION:Are you a Male Carer*? We’d love for you to attend this Carers Focus Group.  \n\nThursday 23 May 2024\, 10:45am – 12:30pm\, Eccles Gateway.\n\n#HaveYourSay on carer support services. We’d like to hear about any:  \n\nPositive experiences \nIssues / barriers to engagement\nYour recommendations for improvement \n\n42% of carers in the UK are men\, but we know the proportion of male carers accessing support services is less than this. We want to know how we can best support male carers.  \nSo what’s working and what isn’t? What would you like to see offered\, that currently isn’t?  \nMaybe you’d like us to offer more sociable activities\, so you can have a break from the stresses of caring\, meet other male carers and have some fun?  \nFor example: walking football\, 5 a-side football\, going for a hike\, having a game of snooker/pool\, going for a bite to eat\, watching cricket\, going bowling etc.  \nMaybe you’d like us to restart the male carers group?   \nWe want to make sure our services are right for male carers. So come along\, share your experiences and ideas.   \nWe’ll provide a brew\, snacks and reimburse agreed travel expenses\, so you’re not out of pocket (be sure to keep your receipts!).   \nA male staff-member will facilitate the session\, supported by our Carers Involvement Worker Jemma.  \nBy volunteering your time and having your say\, you will help shape services and make a positive difference to Salford Carers.  \nFeel free to stay afterwards and chat with other carers\, or ask staff questions until 1pm.   \nTo book: contact jemma.houghton@gaddum.org.uk | 0161 834 6069 (ext 4009). \nWe’re also running this Carers Focus Group on Tuesday 28 May\, 6pm – 7:15pm\, online\, if that works better for you.
